Friction in Video Games
In Minecraft (a popular sandbox game, for those of you who don't know), there are many examples of friction. One of the more common ones is the mine-carts. There are a few different types of track you can use with a mine-cart, but the basic one is the best example in this case. When using regular track, your mine-cart will only move for a certain amount of time before it slows down, and eventually comes to a stop because of the friction between the wheels and the track. The only way to combat this is to use redstone track- a kind of track which will power the cart in order to keep it going.
Questions
1. How does friction slow objects down?
It creates resistance
2. Why is friction necessary to our every day life?
We would never stop moving without friction (and air resistance. mostly friction).
